Tired (Sometimes)

about

This was one of those STFU and play my guitar moments. I didn't even know what tempo I was playing in. The thing I like most about this track is that everything feels so natural following the guitar. As for the words, you could probably guess the mood I was in by the tone of not just the words, but the entire song. Also discovered what a great dictation tool my phone is. Don't be surprised hearing more songs written like this one was. I hope you enjoy it.

lyrics

I’m so tired of a world that brings me down
I’m so tired of friends not around
I’m tired of being shipwrecked from the crashing wind and waves
I’m tired of seeing darkness that covers all my days

I’m tired of being washed up on the shore
When I’ve had enough life gives me more
I’m tired of hearing people say, “I will be there for you”
Yet no trace when you’re feeling blue

Sometimes I feel my life slip away from my hands
Sometimes I see the days fall like grains of sand
Sometimes I feel emotions drain from my face
Sometimes I wish I could leave and not leave a trace

I’m so tired from living through this pain
I get back up and life kicks me down again
I am tired from hearing the breaking of my voice as I pray
I am tired from feeling the breaking of my heart from day to day

Sometimes I need a word to bring down the walls
Sometimes I need the faith to make giants fall
Sometimes I need the faith to walk across the waves
Sometimes I need the faith to believe when I pray

Sometimes when I pray to God, He just can’t shut my mouth
And sometimes when I can’t go on...
